THE CLUB
"Fostering new friendships through fun and fitness!"
Brisbane Water Netball Club is part of the Woy Woy Peninsula Netball Association at Ettalong, NSW. Our Club currently consists of 100+ members (Players, Umpires, Coaches, Managers and Committee Members). This number continues to grow each year!
In 1974, Woy Woy Peninsula Netball Club was formed. St Johns Netball became Brisbane Water Netball Club in the 80’s, and allowed for children from other areas to join our Club. Many teachers and parents who attended St John the Baptist Primary School in Woy Woy, remember playing Netball for St Johns Netball. Megan Anderson played for St Johns Netball from the age of 8 years and continued to grow her career within the Woy Woy Peninsula Netball Association.
Megan Anderson played in the national competitions in both Australia and New Zealand before the formation of the ANZ Championship in 2008. She represented the Sydney Swifts – winning three titles – and Adelaide Ravens in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy and also played a season with the Northern Force in New Zealand’s National Bank Cup.
When the ANZ Championship began, Anderson joined New Zealand side the Southern Steel and spent two seasons with that team before moving to the Northern Mystics. She retired at the end of 2011 and moved into coaching.
